The Thames MonsterThe river ran through the centre of London. The wind was still. The surface of the river showed little movement. Only a feather, or three, hinted at the drag of the currents bubbling below.Ripples suddenly spread across the surface, as if a pebble had been thrown into a pond. Then, at the centre of the ripples, a bubble burst through. Nobody was watching. The bubble went unnoticed!But what came next will remain forever etched in the minds of those that saw it.An immense craggy head, like a rusty battered bus, reared its head out of the water accompanied by the most blood curdling roar you have ever heard. People on the river banks stopped dead in their tracks and turned, wide eyed to look. People on the bridge above looked down in horror.Their eyes focussed on the huge spikes of green flesh on the back of the creatures head and the glinting teeth in the creature’s mouth! They daren’t look into the bulging, red- crazed eyes for fear of losing themselves in its stare.Someone screamed! Then the whole area erupted in screams.
